Empowering Families for Equitable Parenting and Poverty Alleviation Programme

Family is the most important part of the lives of everyone. They are the first identity that a child gets, and later, they become the biggest support system for us to grow up and make our own identity. A family is the centre of love, care, strength and support.

We believe that family is the essence of every society and Nation. The problems we have in our society today, sometimes, they have a clear connection with the upbringing of children in their families.
In the patriarchal systems, gender-based violence and discrimination start from the family.

For us SHEEO NGO, building healthy, equitable, resilient and thriving families is very crucial in achieving gender-equality and economic justice in rural Tanzania.

Take a look on what we do in this programme area of SHEEO NGO:

1.
 We offer family life education, effective parenting skills and knowledge on gender-responsive, sensitive and neutral parenting  to rural families in order to build coherent communities safe for everyone to live and grow;

2. We initiate socio-economic programs for poor, rural families to move out of poverty and raise their children in gender-responsive ways;

3. We provide social assistance or support to poor, rural families and their children in order to address their humanitarian needs and make them more sustainable so that they become healthy, resilient and thrive;

4. We support abandoned and orphans children and those from poor, rural families facing their rights violations and at risk to join the streets due to various challenges they face in their families in order to help them restore their hope for a better future and achieve their dreams.
