To empower rural adolescent girls with education, life and practical skills, and economic opportunities to build resilient, self-reliant futures and strengthen their communities.

General Objectives

What SHEEO is working to achieve

  • To increase and support adolescent girls’ access to quality education, STEM, innovation, and needed knowledge for the labor market.
  • To offer holistic psychosocial support, mental health awareness, and life skills to rural adolescent girls.
  • To provide rural adolescent girls with entrepreneurship and vocational skills that promote self-reliance and financial independence.
  • To strengthen the abilities of rural adolescent girls on sexual and reproductive health and rights so that they can make informed choices about their lives and futures.
  • To empower rural adolescent girls with knowledge on leadership, gender equality, equity, and justice.
  • To establish and sustain community-led systems that consistently promote and safeguard the best interests of adolescent girls.

Target Groups

  • Direct beneficiaries: impoverished rural adolescent girls aged 10 to 19 years who are in formal education and those out of school.
  • Indirect beneficiaries: families, communities, and local and international stakeholders who help create an environment where adolescent girls can thrive and become autonomous.

Impact Target: 2025 - 2050

From 2025 to 2050, SHEEO targets reaching, supporting, and impacting the lives of 2,500,000 impoverished rural adolescent girls in the Lake Zone Victoria regions including Kagera, Geita, Mwanza, Simiyu, Mara and other areas of Tanzania as the organization grows.
