Valuable Gift For The Children In Distress – VGFCD Project (Ongoing)


 BRIEF ABOUT THIS PROJECT:  
The project has sought to fight illiteracy and generational poverty by giving access to education, preventing school dropouts and overcome challenges faced by poor, rural orphans children and the vulnerable children of the marginalized, rural single teen and young-mothers in their access to education and integral growth so as to enable them to prepare for a promising future and fulfill their dreams and change their communities.
Their family history, origin or social backgrounds should not be the reason for them to be left behind because their lives and future matters. VGFCD – Project envisages supporting individually more than 180 children in distress by 2030 from different areas of Mwanza region in Tanzania.

PROJECT OVERALL OBJECTIVE:
To support the access to early childhood care, pre-primary and primary education and healthy growth for the children in distress (poor, rural orphans children and the children of marginalized, rural single teen and young-mothers) in order to build their hope for a better future, help them achieve their dreams and change the conditions of lives of their communities.

PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION COVERAGE:
This project focuses on helping the children in distress from rural areas of Mwanza region in Tanzania but, starting with Magu district.

PROJECT SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
1.  Initiate a early childhood daycare centre, pre-primary and primary school with boarding facilities to help targeted children in distress to have access to education, nutrition and care;
2. Enroll and support the children in distress to join early childhood care centers, pre-primary and primary schools in order to help them access quality early childhood care, pre-primary and primary education;
3.  Provide school supplies, uniforms, bags, food support, transport and medical support to the children in distress to insure these children access the education, attend regularly the school and participate fully in school activities;
4.  Offer/sponsor remedial classes after normal studies schedule to boost their academic performance to help them understand deeply what they are learning and succeed in their studies with higher grade and acquire the opportunity to move with other educational levels as per Tanzania Education system;
5.  Provide psycho-social support, organize life skills empowerment sessions and sports and games activities to help the children in distress heal their pain, build their hopes and self-esteem and nurture their talents to be another source of achieving their dreams.

PROJECT FUNDED BY: This project is funded by individual donations currently at the level of giving them school supplies and paying school fees.
