Supporting Her Education for Her Autonomy - SHEHA Project (Ongoing)
PROJECT OVERALL OBJECTIVE:
To support
the access and successful academic completion of secondary education for the
most underprivileged rural girls to help them drive changes in their lives and
communities using the power of education in Magu district, Mwanza region.
PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION COVERAGE:
The activities of the project will take place at Bujora, Kisesa, Bujashi
and Bukandwe wards, Sanjo division in Magu district, Mwanza
region in Tanzania.
PROJECT SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
1. Provide education
sponsorship, mentorship, accompaniment and life skills empowerment to 300 most underprivileged adolescents’ girls in six
public secondary schools in Magu district by December, 2030;
2. Increase awareness of school
parents committees, schools staffs and students on valuing and promoting girls’
education, mutual cooperation, support and respect between adolescents’ girls
and boys for their better academic performance by December, 2030.
THE FOLLOWING ARE THE NEEDS WHICH
SHEHA PROJECT IS ADDRESSING:
1. Purchase/repair of school shoes, uniforms and bags;
2. Acquisition
of School supplies and other educational materials like books, pens, exercises
– books …;
3. Paying
for daily transport and contribute for daily meals at school;
4. Buying
sanitary pads for menstruation;
5. Paying
extra classes courses (tuition) for English language and Sciences Subjects;
6. Paying
for National Health insurance to cover treatment when sick.
