Biography

Martin Alex Selemani is an accountant by profession.

He was born and raised in a poor, rural family and decided to study accountancy in order to help the non-profit sector to manage well the funds it is receiving from local and international donors. This resulted after his sponsorship from a donor who was sponsoring his secondary education failed to continue sponsoring him and many other children due to lack of transparency and accountability to the project which identified him and decided to help him joining the secondary education.

He joined SHEEO NGO (formerly known as Awakening Horn for Inclusive Rural Development – AHIRD) in the year 2022 once he got his diploma in accountancy course and worked as intern for all that year.

In January, 2023 he got confirmed by the Board of Directors to be employed as a full time staff of SHEEO NGO and serve as an Accountant.
With his enthusiastic desire to help more SHEEO NGO in financial management, he decided to get back to his university and register for a bachelor degree in accountancy which he expects to graduate in July 2025.

I thank the Board of Directors and our courageous Executive Director for their daily guidance to insure there is no mismanagement of the funds and resources of the organization entrusted to us by our donors for answering the needs of the beneficiaries. I see SHEEO NGO to be a giant organization in a near future.”
